Construction of Ghodepani-Ghandruk trekking route begins

Myagdi / October 5: Ina bid to revive the tourism industry of the country, the construction of a trekking route from Myagdi’s main tourism route, Ghodepani, to Ghandruk of Kaski has begun.

Folks of Ghodepani have started constructing a well-managed trekking route placing slates and pebbles on the path between Steep Mountain and forest area.

Ghodepani Hotel Management Committee Chairperson Junu Pun shared that the construction of trekking route stretching 600 metres from Ghodepani has been completed in the first phase. The committee has invested Rs 1.7 million from its internal fund to construct the trekking route.

It is expected that the construction of Ghodepani route – which is considered to be the centre of attraction of Annapurna trekking route – will increase the inflow of tourists.

The tourism sector of the country has been observing declining trend following the massive earthquake of April this year. Although most of the tourism sites are safe in the earthquake there is very less flow of tourists in the country following the incident. Tourism entrepreneurs have been organizing various programs to spread the message that Nepal is a safe for travel. RSS
