PM vows to resolve ongoing issues soon; seeks action plan for development

Oli after nominationKathmandu, Oct 19: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed his confidence that the issues ensued following the India’s border blockade on Nepal will be resolved soon.

Speaking with the representatives of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today morning at his official residence at Baluwatar, PM Oli assured that the issues, including the agitation in various districts across southern plains, will come to an end at the earliest.

FNCCI President Pashupati Murarka shared that the visiting members requested with the PM for his positive intervention to resolve the issues, including the ongoing strike and agitation in Terai.

“Prime Minister Oli assured us that the solution to this end will be sought at the soonest,” said Murarka.

The newly appointed PM Oli also said that the government was effortful to resolve the issues in ‘package’, including easing out the transit to Nepal and importing the goods stocked in various Customs Offices at border with India from alternative routes. The visiting members also included former Presidents of the FNCCI.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli has also directed the secretaries to formulate a new action plan for the development of the country in the aftermath of the promulgation of the constitution and submit it to the government until mid-November.

PM Oli made such directives during a meeting held in Singhadurbar Monday with secretaries, joint secretaries and senior government officers. Stating that bureaucracy should be free from any political activities and that government staffs should work in accordance with the new constitution, he urged them to expedite their works at a time when the constitution was promulgated amid critical political juncture in the country.

PM Oli also said that some necessary laws should be made at the earliest to implement the new constitution effectively and move ahead in a new direction.

He also directed the secretaries to pay their attentions towards easing the supplies of foodstuffs and medicines to the remote areas and making necessary arrangements towards that end.

Also, he drew the attention of the secretaries towards clearing obstructions on the highways (if any), emphasising on the need not to let hospitals, educational institutions and industries padlocked under any pretexts. RSS
