Tourism Minister pledges efforts to enlist Dolakha’s temple as world heritage site

Bhimeshwor temple DolakhaDolakha / November 7: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel on Saturday pledged to make efforts to enlist the renowned Bhimeshwor temple of the district as a UNESCO World Heritage site in order to boost tourism.

At a farewell ceremony organized by Regional Hotel Association in district headquarters of Charikot, Minister Pokharel said if the government could succeed in its bid to enlist the temple as a world heritage site it would attract more foreign tourists to Dolakha.

Minister Pokharel, who is also a lawmaker representing Dolakha constituency-2, said the country’s tourism industry was now facing tough time following the massive earthquake and the Indian government’s undeclared blockade. He expressed commitment to introducing a special scheme to revive the deteriorated tourism industry. RSS
