Chinese proposal to bring gas bullets directly to Panchkhal

gas bulletKathmandu / November 15: Nepal’s Ambassador to China, Dr Mahesh Maskey, has today met with Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun at the Office of the Vice President at Bahadur Bhawan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Maskey briefed Vice President Pun that final preparation of signing a trade agreement was underway as the agreement in principle was already signed between Nepal and China to bring fuel from China.

The Ambassador informed that there was some delay in signing the trade agreement as China has been formulating rules regarding the export of fuel as it has never exported fuel so far, VP Pun’s Chief Personal secretary, Suk Bahadur Roka, told media.

He further said that although petrol and diesel could be imported via Kerung check point, attempts were underway to bring gas bullet via Tatopani border check point as it has been difficult to bring it from Kerung.

Ambassador Maskey said that the Chinese side was ready to bring gas bullets to Panchkhal directly by establishing a joint customs at Panchkhal of Kavre.

“Kerung is in the priority of China. But it is not possible to bring gas bullets from Kerung as the road towards Nepal is narrow. We will import diesel, petrol and other goods from Kerung. We have proposed for importing gas bullets via Tatopani,” said Roka, quoting Ambassador Maskey.

On the occasion, the Ambassador urged VP Pun to take initiative for the establishment of a joint customs, saying Chinese proposal to bring gas bullets directly to Panchkhal by establishing joint customs there was positive. RSS
