PM urged to expedite reconstruction works

Gorkha / November 17: The District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee, Gorkha, and politicians have urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to immediately expedite the reconstruction works of the quake-hit things with due priority.

A team of the Committee including the Chief District Officer (CDO) and politicians from the district met the Prime Minister on Monday and urged the latter to give priority for the reconstruction of the quake-damaged physical infrastructures and others.

CDO Uddhav Prasad Timilsena, Chief Whip of Nepali Congress (NC) Chinkaji Shrestha, NC Central Committee Member Surendra Raj Pandey, NC Gorkha District Committee President Hari Bahadur Ghale, Central Committee Member of CPN (UML) Ramsharan Basnet, UML Gorkha District Committee Chair Prem Gurung, UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Chham Bahadur Gurung and others were there in the delegation to meet the PM.

During the meeting with the PM, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel were also present.

Submitting a memorandum, CDO Timilsena asked the PM to manage necessary budget and dozers to open track from the Gorkha district headquarters to Chhekampar, the bordering area with China.

According to Timilsena, the PM has vowed to take appropriate decision to address the concerns of the people and also shared the government’s plan to develop an integrated settlement for the regions of Palungtar, Chyangli and Bimalnagar.

CDO Timilsena said that the Prime Minister is positive to begin the reconstruction works and manage dozers to open track to the border of Tibet. RSS
