blood donationKathmandu, Nov. 18: The Maha Bauddha chapter of Nepal Red Cross Society Kathmandu, and Asan Sewa Samiti have started a one-month-long blood donation programme.

The organisers said that the event was organised to ease the supply of blood during the time of crisis caused due to India’s blockade on Nepal. So far, 40 pints of blood has been handed over to the blood transfusion centre. The average daily need of blood in the capital city is as high as 500 pints, it is said.

On the occasion, former secretary of Nepal Red Cross Society Kathmandu Sanghratna Shakya urged the healthy persons to donate blood and help the needy people. RSS
