Nepal much serious about child rights: Minister Mainlai
Kathmandu / November 18: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children, and Social Welfare CP Mainali has said Nepal serious about protection and promotion of child rights. The recently promulgated constitution of Nepal has guaranteed the rights of children.
Addressing the ‘WeProtect Children Online Global Summit’ organised at Abu Dhabi at the initiative of Britain and the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, the Deputy Prime Minister said Nepal has established the cases related to child violence, abuse and trafficking as social crime and ensured punitive measures along with compensation against such crime.
The form of child violence and abuse has been changed with changing time, he said insisting on taking effective measures to fight against this social crime. He called for collective efforts on the part of world community, government, private investors and technology to end online child abuse. The Summit focused on eradicating online child abuse and thereby protecting and promoting child rights.
Representatives from 50 countries across the world participated in the two-day summit that concluded on Tuesday. RSS
