International seminar for mitigating disaster risk in offing

disasterKathmandu / November 20: A three-day international seminar will be held in the capital city on the role of land survey professionals on mitigating the risk of disaster in Nepal and role of geological communication infrastructure.

The seminar will take place for Nov 25-27 as per information related at a press conference held on Thursday. The primary objective of the conference is to identify the survey specialists’ role in reconstructing the structures destroyed in the massive April 25 earthquake and role of geological communication infrastructure, organizers said.

Survey Department Deputy Director General and Organizing Committee Chairman Ganesh Raj Bhatta said the seminar would see exchanges of information on the international practices applied during the reconstruction work at the quake-stricken areas.

The seminar will be organized by Nepal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Nepal Remote Sensing and Photogrammetric Society co-supported by Ministry of Land Reform and Management, Survey Department and Land Management Training Centre. RSS
