Rs 30 million relief to quake survivors in Palpa

Pap districtPalpa / November 22: The quake-affected families of Palpa have received more than Rs. 30 million in relief assistance.

The financial support was made through local NGOs on behalf of Heifer International in Mujhung, Chahara, Fokxingkot, Sahalkot, Rampur, Gadakot, Mityal and Galdha VDCs, according to senior programme officer Ananta Siwal.

More than 1,700 household benefitted from the cash support, which is expected to help them start income generation, rebuild houses and protect livestock. Every family received Rs. 15,000, said programme coordinator of Sky Samaj Project Bishnu Kandel.

The support was provided based on the classification made by the government in terms of the damage incurred during the devastating April earthquake. RSS
