Literary figures urge Prez Bhandari to promote language and literature

BidhyaKathmandu / November 23: Senior literary figures and officials of the Sajha Publications today called on President Bidhya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas and urged her to pay necessary concerns for the promotion of languages and literatures.

On the occasion they expressed best wishes for the successful tenure of President Bhandari.

The delegation reached the Sheetal Niwas and urged President Bhandari to pay necessary concerns to revive the Sajha Publications as it was facing financial crisis.

On the occasion, President Bhandari assured that she would take steps for the reforms of the publications adding that the languages, literatures, arts and cultures of the nation help to unite all.

President Bhandari said that concerned bodies and government should be serious for the promotion of languages and literature as it helps unite and mediate the people.

Similarly, minister without portfolio Shanta Manavi said that Sajha Publications was facing crisis due to its internal reasons.

Also present on the occasion were former Ministers Modnath Prashrit, Pradip Nepal, Dinanath Sharma and literary figures Prof Dr Basudev Tripathi, Bairagi Kainla, Ganga Prasad Upreti, Madan Mani Dixit and chair and general manager of Publications Dolindra Prasad Sharma among others. RSS
