Students form 27-Kilometres human chain denouncing blockade
Kathmandu / November 27: Frustrated from the long closure of schools following the blockade imposed by India, students in Kathmandu made a 27-kilometre human chain along the Ring Road demanding ensuring their rights to life and study.
Guardians and stakeholders also participated in the programme. The programme was organised for two hours from 11:00 am on Friday. Participants in the event had carried placards, the national flag as well as banners with different slogans on right to life and education written on them.
The programme was jointly organised by different organisations including Private and Boarding Schools Organisation Nepal (PABSON), NPABSON, HISSAN, Joint Students Organisation, Teachers’ Federation, as well as organisations associated with APIN demanding an end to Tarai agitation and the border blockade.
Study has been affected for more than two months due to blockade and agitation ongoing in tarai following the promulgation of new constitution. India has been imposing blockade to Nepal citing problem in some of the border points of Nepal. Schools are shut as they do not have petroleum products for running their vehicle for carrying students. RSS
