Kathmandu / November 28: In an attempt to protest against the economic embargo imposed on Nepal by India for over two months, a group of literati have come up with a unique programme.

They will form a human chain stretching from Singha Durbar to UN Park of Pulchowk in the capital city on November 30 from 2 am to 3.

The organizers, comprising scores of intellectuals, human rights activists and writers, have urged the commoners to join the cause.

Together they will stand on either side of the roads stretching from the central administrative office of the country- Singha Durbar- to UN Park, according to human right activist Subodh Pyakurel.

In a programme organized here Saturday, human right activist Pyakurel said that they urged various agitating Madhes-centric political parties to seek solution to their issue through talks.

Arguing that the border blockade was inhumane act, he appealed to one and all to mark their presence in the event.

The organizers are likely to submit a memo to the UN General-Secretary through UN Office in Nepal, stating the problems facing Nepal and Nepalis following the trade embargo. The human chain to be formed carries a slogan ‘let’s protest against economic embargo, violence and impunity.’ RSS
