Mustang declared fully-inoculated district

MustangMustang / November 29: Mustang was declared the fully inoculated district on Saturday. So far, 12 districts in the country have been announced fully immunized as they met the minimum target in vaccination.

At a programme organised in the district headquarters Jomsom, lawmaker Shree Maya Thakali made such declaration by committing to provide access to vaccines to the newborns in future as well.

The efforts to declare the fully immunized district were materialised after 191 infants and 196 babies of up to 23 months in the district were given complete cycles of vaccinations across the district in the recent days, Vaccine Supervisor Badri Acharya said.

On the occasion, Thakali said that cooperation from all sides was vital to give continuity to such positive works. She said that role of women health volunteers, VDC secretaries, health workers, civil society and others was vital to make this happen.

As per the legal provision, 10 types of different vaccines including BCG, DPT and polio and rubella should be vaccinated to the children of up to 23 months to declare a region as fully inoculated.

Administrator of the Western Development Region Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, Local Development Officer Hari Prasad Bastola, regional health director Taranath Poudel and others were present on the occasion. RSS
