Dadeldhura lake awaits conservation bids

LakeDadeldhura / December 8: Alital, a lake in Dadeldhura district with abundant possibility of tourism, is awaiting the conservation drives for its protection and promotion.

Headmaster of Alital Primary School Yadav Bogati said that chances are high to increase locals’ income from tourism by developing the lake as a tourist destination.

Raghubir Dhami, a resident of Alital VDC, said that the concerned agencies were not paying attention for the conservation of the lake.

Locals say that the lake could contribute largely to the economic development of the region by bringing in tourists if the lake was well protected and publicity was done. They complained the lack of concrete plan of action for the development and promotion of the lake though Alital Tourism Development Society was formed for the celebration of Nepal Tourism Year-2011.

The lake located at the altitude of 800 metres from the sea level is stretched 1,175 metres while the width of the lake is nearly 4,00 metres. RSS
