Silver jubilee celebration of Pokhara-based Kanya Campus

Kanya CampusPokhara / December 9: The only campus for girls in the western development region, the Pokhara-based Kanya Campus has received a huge amount of money from different persons for the establishment of revolving funds on the occasion of its silver jubilee celebrations. The amount of the revolving funds would be used for providing scholarships to the students.

On the occasion, chairman of the campus management committee Yogendralal Pradhan handed over a cheque of Rs 500,000 to campus chief Suresh Kumar Manandhar to establish a revolving fund in memory of Pradhan’s mother.

Likewise, social worker Mohan Kumari Shrestha provided the cheque of Rs 500,555 to found the Bishnu Kumar Shrestha Memorial Revolving Fund.

Furthermore, Pradhan was handed over a cheque of Rs 400,000 from the Dr Yadav Prasad Foundation for campus.

Similarly, founding campus chief of Kanya Campus Surendra Bahadur Bhari provided additional 50,000 rupees in already established Shuvadradevi Bhariju Memorial Educational Scholarships Fund.

Marking the beginning of the silver jubilee celebrations, Administrator of Western Region Kedar Bahadur Adhikari said that Kanya Campus has contributed largely to women’s empowerment through women education and stressed the need for quality education.

Also speaking at the programme, Campus Chief Manandhar promised to ensure quality education and new programmes. RSS
