Good governance award to Dr Bhagwan Koirala

Bhagawan KoiralaKathmandu / December 9: Cardiologist and former Executive Director of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital Dr Bhagwan Koirala has been awarded this year’s ‘Good Governance Award’.

The Good Governance Foundation honoured Dr Koirala amidst a special function here Wednesday. The award was presented in commemoration of the Day (December 9) when the United Nations ratified the General Convention against Corruption.

The award carries a purse of Rs 11,111 along with letter of appreciation and running shield.

Dr Koirala was honoured for recognition of his contribution to the promotion of good governance, Foundation Chair Kedar Khadka said.

A selection committee comprising former chief of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Suryanath Upadhyay, former Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudyal, Transparency International Nepal Vice Chair Geeta Keshari and Foundation Chair Khadka nominated Dr Koirala for the honour. RSS
