Nepal Police brings in use Digital Forensics Technology

forensic machineKathmandu / December 10: The Nepal Police has brought the Digital Forensics Technology in use since today.

On the occasion of the 60th Crime Investigation Day, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Upendrakanta Aryal inaugurated the technology amid a programme held at the Police Headquarters at Naxal in Kathmandu.

IGP Aryal said that the technology is installed in an attempt to modernize and well-equip the Nepal Police.

He believed that this state-of-the-art-technology helps Police combat crimes through the scientific, evidence-based investigation as according to IGP Aryal , as many as 90 per cent of criminal activities occur with the use of any form of information technology.

Also, speaking at the programme, Chakra Bahadur Buda, Joint-Secretary of Minister of Home Affairs said that it was imperative to well-equip police with latest technology in helping them solve the criminal cases. On the occasion, various police personnel were awarded for their outstanding performances.
