Journalist Jabegu receives Human Rights Journalism Award

Journalist AwardIlam / December 11: A journalist based in Ilam has been honoured for his contributions to human rights through media.

Journalist Satendra Jabegu was honoured with this year’s ‘Human Rights Journalism Prize’ at a programme on Thursday on the occasion of the 67th International Human Rights Day. District Judge Nabraj Dahal felicitated journalist Jabegu with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a letter of appreciation.

Awarding the prize, Judge Dahal said that journalism helps promote the marginalised groups in the society and cautions the wrongdoers.

Also speaking at the programme, awarded journalist Jabegu said that the role of journalists would be crucial to highlight the concerns of backward and voiceless people.

Biratnagar-based journalist Yagya Sharma was honoured with the prize last year. RSS
