DPM and Foreign Affairs Minister Thapa leaving for UK on Tuesday

Kamal ThapaKathmandu / December 13: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Thapa is leaving for the United Kingdom on 15 December 2015.

Deputy Prime Minister Thapa will meet his British counterpart, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Philip Hammond, Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Hugo Swire, DFID Minister Desmond Swayne, members of British Parliament and other important members of British society and the Nepalese living in the UK during his visit.

In course of his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Thapa will attend a special Bicentenary Reception hosted by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in London on 16 December to commemorate the two-hundred years of Nepal-UK relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release today.

Senior officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs will accompany the Deputy Prime Minister. On 17 December, Nepalese delegation led by the Joint Secretary at the Europe America Division of the Ministry will participate in the second Nepal-UK Bilateral Consultation Meeting. Minister Thapa is scheduled to return home on 21 December 2015.

It is likely that DPM Thapa would like to shed light on the recent constitution promulgated by Nepali people as there are misconception at the international level that the constitution is not inclusive. India, which imposed blockade to Nepal after Nepal promulgated its new constitution, is spreading rumors in the international level that the Nepal constitution is not inclusive. RSS
