50 shelters handed to disabled earthquake victims

ShelterBhaktapur / December 17: The Rural Disabled Coordination Committee, Changunarayan handed over 50 temporary shelters made up of iron-corrugated sheets to the earthquake victims living with disabilities.

The committee constructed the shelters with the assistance of various donors and handed over to the families with disabled, shared Committee Chairperson Gopal Prasad Pokharel.

It is noted that the committee also distributed foodstuffs, mosquito nets, blankets, noodles, beaten rice and four wheel-chairs to the quake-affected people living with disabilities.

As many as 40 disabled were provided with tracksuits and some 14 individuals and institutions who substantially contributed to the rescue and relief operations during the 25 April 2015 devastating earthquake were felicitated.

He also informed that they are preparing to open a Day-Care Centre in Changunarayan for people with disabilities. There are 140 disabled people in Changunarayan area. RSS
