Joshi appointed CEO of Nepal Tourism Board

NTBKathmandu / December 17: The post of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Chief Executive Officer, which has remained vacant for the last four years, was filled on Thursday.

The NTB Administrative Committee appointed Deepak Raj Joshi as the CEO from amongst the final three candidates. The other two were Gyanendra Singh Mahato and Dr Gyanendra Tuladhar. Joshi got the highest marks to get appointed. He has been working in the senior most position in the Board.

The government had formed a three-member recommendation committee for fulfilling the vacant post. The Committee recommended Joshi in view of his educational quality, experience and specialty in line with the working statute, said Tourism and Civil Aviation Ministry Secretary and NTB Administrative Committee Chairman Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya.

A total of 18 individuals had filed application for the post in which 12 were chosen in the preliminary selection. Among the selected nine individuals appeared for examinations, Thapaliya said. Joshi, Mahato and Tuladhar made it to the top three for final selection.

Following the retirement of the then NTB CEO Prachandaman Shrestha four years ago, the top NTB position had been running in the capacity of Officiating and Acting Chiefs. RSS
