Rhino found dead in Chitwan

Rhino imageChitwan / December 22: A male rhino was found dead at Kumroj area of the eastern belt in Chitwan district.

Chairman of Kumroj-based Wildlife Smuggling Control Campaign Ishwori Pathak said that the rhino could have died after a fighting with the counterpart.

Assistant Conservation Officer and Information Officer of Chitwan National Park today said that the rhino was found dead with multiple injuries in its body parts. He also added that the important organs of the rhino including the horn are safe.

A total of 10 rhinos died of natural causes last year, according to the National Park reports.

No rhino has died from the smugglers in the past some years while the country marked ‘zero poaching year’ for three times. RSS
