Talks with Madhesi Morcha to be decisive: Minister Rai

Communication Minister RaiPokhara / December 22: Minister for Information and Communications Technology, Sherdhan Rai, has expressed the view that the talks with the agitating Madhesi Morcha would be decisive and the country would get an outlet from the current deadlock.

At a news conference organised by the Press Chautari Nepal, Kaski, here this morning, Minister Rai said that the date for the talks with the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front would be determined within a few days.

He further said that continuous talks would he held until any decision is reached and the unannounced border blockade is put to an end.

Minister Rai, also the Spokesperson of the government, said, “Some contentious issues could be finalized though talks and dialogue.”

He said that the government would not remain silent and would move ahead as per the constitution and law if the dialogue with the UDMF ends inconclusive.

Stating that attention of the government has been drawn towards making the media sector systematic, effective, safe and disciplined, the Communications Rai said that process for the formation of Media Academy has moved ahead as well as the Working Journalist Act and journalist accident insurance programmes would be implemented immediately.

He said that construction task of international airport in Pokhara would be started within next two months.

Similarly, Minister Rai objected over the mistreatment to President Bidya Devi Bhandari by Madhesi Morcha in Janakpur. RSS
