Pokhara prepares for Street Festival

Pokhara / December 27: As Pokhara is preparing to organise the 17th Street Festival on the eve of New Year-2016, the booking of hotels in the tourist city has reached nearly 60 per cent.

The Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN), Pokhara, has been organising such event for the past 17 years on the eve of the New Year.

Organising a news conference on Saturday, coordinator of Festival Main Organising Committee Dorjee Lama said that domestic and international tourists are excited to attend the Street Festival in Lakeside, Pokhara.

Coordinator Lama said that preparations for the festival were almost over and added that the hotels and restaurants in the city would offer some discounts in their services during the festival.

The restaurants would be set up on the road from Sahid Chowk to Dihiko Patan in the Lakeside and the varieties of food items would be served to the tourists besides cultural shows, Chairman of REBAN Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai said.

Bhattarai also said that security situation, health camp, transport service, fire engine and other necessary things have been managed well, targetting the event. RSS
