Quality of cooperatives should be enhanced to boost economy: DPM KC

chitra bahadur kcKathmandu / December 31: Of the share capital worth Rs 63 billion and saving capital worth Rs 200.2 billion of National Cooperative Development Board (NCDB), altogether Rs 100.88 billion has been mobilised, according to the NCDB annual report.

NCDB’s Chairman Keshab Prasad Badal made public the report amid a programme organised by NCDB in the Capital today on the occasion of its 23rd annual general meeting.

Meanwhile, speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Chitra Bahadur KC said that quality of cooperatives should be enhanced on the basis of its principles, norms and values as it is the main source of self-independence of the country.

He also stressed on the need for all to lend their help and supports to the development of cooperatives as it is one of the pillars of the country’s economy.

On the occasion, secretary at Cooperative Ministry Shankar Prasad Adhikari also said that cooperatives should work beyond personal interests as it is common institution of Nepal, pointing out on the need for development of cooperatives across the nation for efficient development of country’s economy.
