Earthquake victims get blanket through Sukhawati’s ‘Warm-love Campaign’
Kathmandu / January 1: Sukhawati, a charity organisation, has provided blankets to the victims of the April 25 earthquake, residing in their temporary shelters. The warm blankets have been provided through Sukhawati’s warm-love campaign.
With aid from South Korean Beautiful Store Foundation, the campaign was run throughout the affected regions of Rasuwa, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk and Nuwakot where the rural earthquake affected families received about five thousand five hundred warm blankets, says Mr. Chij Man Gurung, Vice President of The Sukhawati Foundation.
“We started the Warm love campaign primarily with the start of winter to support the displaced family members of the earthquake living in temporary zinc roof shelters”, informs Mr Gurung.
Lately the campaign is effective in Sindhupalchowk’s Kadambas, Sangachowk, Barhabise,Thumpakhar,Mangkha,Chautara and Pipaldanda encircling eleven VDCs’ 500 household members. It is stated that further distribution program to the rest will be provided soon, according to Rajendra Lama, General Secretary of The Sukhawati Foundation.
The Foundations mainly works on recycling old household goods like clothes, Books, flower pots and resells the useable starting Rs Ten to Rs Thousand and uses the collected amount to help the needy and poor families. RSS
