NHRC team monitors rights violation incidents in Siraha

NHRCSiraha / January 1: A team of the National Human Rights Commission has today monitored the incidents of human rights violations occurred in Siraha district in course of the Madhes agitation.

The team led by NHRC member Mohana Ansari monitored such incidents occurred in the district, carried out by the state side and the agitating side during the Madhes agitation. The team held discussion with representatives of political parties, media persons and local human rights activists at Lahan in this connection.

After the discussion, Ansari said that not only in Siraha district, police had used excessive force in other districts of Tarai-Madhes and added that they would release the report by incorporating every issues raised in the region.

Claiming that the Commission has not discriminated against anyone, she expressed commitment to bring the fact and reality behind the incident of mistreatment to President Bidya Devi Bhandari as well as the attack on Sadbhawana Chair Rajendra Mahato. RSS
