Nepal Chamber Expo-2072 kicks off at Bhrikutimandap
Kathmandu / January 7: The Nepal Chamber Expo-2072 has kicked off at Bhrikutimandap in the capital from today. The expo is organised by Nepal Chamber of Commerce with the cooperation of the Republic of Korea.
The five-day exhibition is organised to mark nearly 42 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Nepal and the Republic of Korea. The Republic of Korea is the partner country of the expo.
Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel inaugurated the exhibition organised in partnership of the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies and the Heritage Carpet, CG Mobile, Dragon Air and NMB Bank as the co-sponsors.
The main objective of the exhibition is the development of the industrial and commerce sectors, and facilitation for the promotion of international trade.
A total 250 stalls of 110 national and international companies and entrepreneurs have been kept in the exhibition.
Goods produced in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, South Korea as well as other countries are put on display in the expo. The Chamber has considered Korea as its expo partner this year.
Specially, included in the expo are automobile, electronic and home decoration, among others. On the occasion, NCC Chairman Rajeshkaji Shrestha requested the government to resolve the problem of border blockade soon.
Ambassador of South Korea to Nepal, Choe Yong Jin said that the friendly relation established between the two countries in 1974 has further strengthened. Nepal imports goods worth around 5,000 US dollar from South Korea every year. RSS
