Jhamak Ghimire awarded with Lain Singh Bangdel Prize

Jhamak SammanDhankuta / January 10: Litterateur Jhamak Ghimire has been honoured with ‘Lain Singh Bangdel Prize’ of this year.

India’s Kolkata-based Lain Singh Bangdel Arts Academy presented the prize to Ghimire at an event organised here on Saturday on the occasion 91st birth anniversary of veteran literary figure Bangdel.

The prize carries a purse of Rs 10,001 and a letter of appreciation.

Academy’s Chairman Ganesh Pradhan presented the prize to Ghimire. A team of Academy had arrived in Dhankuta from Kolkata of India to honour Ghimire.

On the occasion, Ghimire expressed her happiness for receiving the prize established in the name of a literary figure whom she admire the most.

Ghimire argued that all should remain united to maintain the harmonious relations existing between Nepal and India in the fields of culture, arts and literature. RSS
