Six racketeers held with machine used to print fake currency notes

Face-moneyRautahat / January 21: The District Police here has arrested six racketeers involved in printing of counterfeit currency notes.

They were held with a machine used for printing counterfeit notes of Rs 1000, and Rs 500 denomination. Counterfeit Nepali currency worth Rs 49,500 was confiscated from the racketeers, said Superintendent of Police, Dr Ganesh Regmi, while making public the racketeers on Thursday.

Those arrested are- Jugal Kishor Kushwaha from Gaur-7, Ram Prabesh Yadav from Gaur-9, Oshi Mahammad from Chandrapur-14 and Manoj Kumar Mahato from Dhanusha and Avay Kumar from Bara Chhatauana.

Similarly, the police confiscated a device used for printing money, paper of different colours from Narayan Chaudhari, from Sakhwa Dhamaura VDC-3 of Rautahat. Chaudhari was found hiding a printer in a suitcase kept inside a pit dug under the ladder at his house.

The fake currency notes were transacted especially during shopping at marketplace, gambling and providing wage, added the police. RSS
