First nat’l meet of home stay operators
Kawasoti / February 11: The first three-day national meet of home stay operators from across the country is to be held from 19 February at Tharu Home Stay Village of Amaltari in Nawalparasi district.
Chairman of Amaltari Tharu Home Stay Prem Shankar Mardaniya said that as high as 300 registered home stay operators from different parts of the country would take part in the meeting.
Home Stay is Nepal’s home grown tourist product that offers accommodation and typical foods along with other cultural shows to the tourists in the rural areas and was started since 2067 BS with the initiative of the government to lure domestic and foreign tourists for the economic development of the rural areas.
Coordinator of the first national convention of home stay operators, Pishuram Chaudhary, said that home stay has helped in publicity of the country’s rural areas, uplift the livelihoods of the locals, preserve the cultural and natural heritages, alleviate poverty and promote eco-tourism and bio-diversity.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel is scheduled to inaugurate the national gathering in Amaltari. RSS
