Nepal’s falls to Namibia, to miss out on automatic WC qualification

Kathmandu / February 11: Nepal’s dream of automatically qualifying for the the next edition of ICC U-19 World Cup has been shattered following a 15-run defeat at the hands of Namibia in a playoff match under the ICC U-19 Qualification round held at Fatullah, Bangladesh on Thursday.

With the defeat in the match held for the 7th spot playoff, Nepal has missed out an automatic qualification to the ICC U-19 World Cup to be held in New Zealand in 2018.

Namibia chose to bat first after winning the toss and posted 225 runs on the board at the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 45 overs. In response, Nepal fell short of reaching the target and got all out in 44.2 overs posting only 210 runs. RSS
