NRNA Canada lends assistance to quake-hit school

NRN CanadaKathmandu / February 14: Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Canada has provided financial assistance to Dolakha-based Chhamawati Secondary School and Gulmi-based Sewa Sanchar, a non government organisation.

NRNA Canada member Madhav Gajurel handed the assistance amount to representatives of the school and organisation amidst a programme here Sunday.

Amount (Rs 43,952) provided to Chhamawati, the oldest school in the Janakpur Zone, will be used for carrying out reconstruction of school physical infrastructure while the assistance for the Sewa Sanchar (Rs 162,524)will be used in the implementation of the menstruation hygiene programme.

Some 80 per cent students out of 450 at Chhamawati represent the Thami community. The school was damaged by the last year’s earthquake. RSS
