‘Heed Nepal’s resources, India’s market, China’s capital and technology during India visit’

PM OliKathmandu / February 14: In view of the imminent India visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, experts on foreign affairs have suggested him that he heeded Nepal’s resources, India’s market, and China’s capital and technology during the visit.

At a programme organized by the Reporters’ Club in the capital city on Sunday, the experts viewed that PM’s visit to India would be successful once the PM spread the message that a prosperous Nepal was essential not only for good relations between Nepal and India but also for the stability of entire South Asia.

Similarly, they said India needs to behave Nepal reflecting its respect to Nepal’s independence, integrity and sovereignty. Other objectives of the visit should be the normalization of the two-country relations by patching up recently strained situation triggered by the blockade.

According to them, it was a very positive signal of India to have an inclusive delegation to pay tribute to late Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala to normalize two-country relations.

Former ambassadors Durgesh Man Singh, Hiranya Lal Shrestha, Tanka Karki and Shambhu Ram Simkhada said maintaining relations through a non-diplomatic channel between the countries might have rendered lesson to both countries.

Making a reference that even the opinions were made that the Indian leaders themselves had made mistakes, the experts said the two-country relations must not be taken for cheap political gains.

They further stressed on a unified perspective on handling the foreign policy. RSS
