JICA to assist for implementation of Economic Census in Nepal

JICA-logoKathmandu / February 17: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has decided to provide technical assistance for the implementation of Economic Census 2018 in Nepal. The assistance is for the capacity development.

Issuing a press release on Wednesday, JICA Nepal Office informed that it signed a technical cooperation project relating to this with the Central Bureau of Statistics. The record of discussion of the project was signed by Chief Representative of JICA Nepal, Tsutomu Shimizu, and Director General of CBS, Suman Raj Aryal.

The project targets to develop the capacity of CBS to conduct economic census and enhance such skills in conducting other related statistical surveys.

The statistical results provided by CBS will be utilized for planning and implementation of policies, plans, and strategies of line ministries, local government, universities, research institutions and private sector. The duration of the project will be tentatively for five years. RSS
