Country’s development impossible sans promotion of art and culture’

Jhalanath%20(1)Ilam / February 19: CPN (UML) senior leader and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has said the development of art and culture would lead to the country’s advancement.

Speaking in an interaction organised by the Nepal Fine Arts Forum Nepal at Ilam Chokbazaar this morning, leader Khanal underlined the need for the protection and development of the art and culture as these are the invaluable assets of the nation.

He said it is the need of the hour to move ahead promoting our unique culture and art without giving in to the imperialism.

“All art and culture should be for promoting nationalism,” the former Prime Minister said, adding that culture devoid of patriotism does not augment to development. He suggested that literature should be change-oriented and that art, literature and culture should move ahead in an integrated manner for bringing positive change.

He also said that the long instability in the country did not have much impact on the country’s art and culture. Khanal arrived Ilam for inaugurating the 28th Anniversary programme of the Jana Sanskritik Mahasangh that is beginning from today. He is also to perform the songs he has composed. RSS
