TU to discontinue hiring teachers on political power sharing

TU_buildingKathmandu / February 24: Tribhuvan University (TU) Vice Chancellor Tirtharaj Khaniya has said the TU has a policy of appointing teachers only through open-competition.

Taking part in an interaction programme on ‘Teacher appointment process and TU future’, organised by the All Nepal National Independent Students Union ( ANNISU- Revolutionary) here Wednesday, Khaniya said the TU has a policy to discontinue with the trend of hiring teachers on the contract-basis and on the political recommendation and power sharing.

ANNISU Revolutionary Chair Ramesh Malla demanded the 49 percent internal and 51 percent open competition while appointing teachers for the University.

TU Rector Dr Sudha Tripathi said political stability was a must to have proper management of TU. Former rector Mahendra Singh was of the view of revising the higher education policy for better results. RSS
