International folk culture fair from March 6

Folk songNuwakot / February 26: The 8th International Folk Culture Fair is to be held from coming March 6. The main theme of the fair this year is ‘welcome of tourist artists: foundation of Nepali folk culture’.

The fair is taking place at the Battar Campus ground. It is organized by the Everest Nepal Cultural Group Kathmandu and Natteswar Kala Kendra Nuwakot. Nepal is a country rich in folk culture and the fair aims at increasing people’s awareness about the folk culture of other countries, said Director of the Kendra Kiran Adhikari. It will also help internationalize Nepali folk culture.

More than 250 artists from seven countries including Bangladesh, Estonia, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Sri Lanka and hosts Nepal are taking part in the fair, according to the organizers. RSS
