NiMS wins inter school dance competition
Kathmandu / February 26 : Organizer Niten Memorial School (NiMS) lifted the winner’s trophy at the 1st NiMS Inter School Dance Competition held at its premises in Dhapasi on Friday.
The winning group of talented dancers, through powerful dance moves, presented the story of how a young gang-rape survivor (or any victim of gender-based violence for that matter) is supposed to raise her voice against the perpetrators instead of leading a secluded and shameful life. They were also awarded with medals, certificates and cash prize in the competition that was centered on the theme of women empowerment. As the organizers stated, “This is 10% competition and 90% awareness campaign.”
Api School from Dhapasi was declared runner-up in the competition. They took home a runner-up trophy, medals, certificates, and cash prize. Kathmandu Model School from Sankhamool came third in the competition in which 10 schools from the valley had participated.
