Octogenarian Ghale comes with 51 writings in a year
Kathmanu / March 2: Octogenarian litterateur Bhadra Kumari Ghale has come up with 51 literary creations that were developed in the course of a year’s time.
The creations were unveiled marking Ghale’s 85th birthday amidst a function by Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai and Academician Dr Jagman Gurung among others here Wednesday.
Majority of the creations include compilation of poems and essays including with titles such as ‘Jeevan ra Kala’, which also has a translated version in English. The English translation titled ‘Art and Life’ has been carried out by senior executive editor of National News Agency or RSS Tirtha Prasad Bhattarai.
Speaking at the programme, Communications Minister Rai lauded the literary creations of Ms Ghale and also her incomparable contribution to social service. He also pledged to provide land on behalf of the government to help Ghale’s desire to establish a hospital for the elderly population, a first of its kind in Asia.
Academician Dr Gurung described Ms Ghale as a national asset who has been promoting women’s empowerment in the society.
Litterateur and social worker Ghale pledged to continue with the social working, including through the proposed hospital. RSS
