ADB likely to fund more for Biratnagar urban development projects

ADBMorang / April 1: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) country director who had been in the town few days back pledged to provide additional monetary assistance of Rs 3.25 billion for the overall development of the city.

On the occasion, the ADB country director inspected under-construction ADB-funded development projects in the town. Of the assistance amount pledged by the ADB under the second installment to implement the development projects in Biratnagar, Rs 2.25 billion will be spent for the management of drain and sewage and blacktopping of roads and the remaining Rs one billion will be spent to construct a wastage procession center at Dangraha, the Biratnagar Sub Metropolitan City Office Urban Development and Planning Division Chief Engineer Bharat Neupane said.

The Office is waiting for the ADB further response to finalise the matter of additional assistance, he said. RSS
