Nepal Development Campaign supports Chepang community
Kathmandu / April 7: The Women Chapter of Nepal Development Campaign has imparted training to laggard Chepang women in a bid to support to their livelihood in Bhalayadanda-5, Gorkha.
As part of its women literacy campaign, the Chapter trained 65 Chepang women on the topics of production, management and women participation in development.
The Chapter also distributed school materials including copy, pen and reading materials to students of Bhalayadanda Primary School at Tanglichowk-5, Gorkha and children who have been deprived of educational opportunity.
In addition, the Campaign also provided a packet of rice, lentils and species items to Tanka Bahadur Chepang, 78, of the same place. He has been neglected by his family members so the token support was provided to give a message to society members, reads a press release issued by the Campaign on Wednesday.
The Nepal Development Campaign is a group of Nepali students and youths living outside the country for the purpose of education and employment. Having the strength of 7,000 members, the Campaign has engaged its efforts to contribute to the development of the country. RSS
