Bardiya declared fully literate

Map of Bardiya districtBardiya / April 11: Bardiya has been declared a fully literate district amidst a programme here. Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokhrel announced on Sunday that Bardiya had been successful to make itself literate.

On the occasion, Minister Pokhrel lauded the role various sectors played on wiping out illiteracy from the district. “I’m in a campaign to announce all districts fully literate,” he stressed.

The population ranging from 15 to 60 year has 96.41 percent literacy in the district. There are 335,916 people belonging to this age group.

District Education Officer Jit Bahadur Saha informed that the students from grade 9 and 10 were mobilized under the practical education to help in the literacy campaign in the district. RSS
