Litterateurs contributing to democratic movement honoured

Bairagi KainlaKathmandu / April 12: Litterateurs contributing to democratic movements have been honoured in the capital city Tuesday.

The Shrasta Chaitra-30, an organization set up after a literary movement, honoured literati Sulochana Manandhar and Dr Dubashu Chhetri. Manandhar is an academician and Chhetri the Joint Secretary at Foreign Ministry.

Former Chancellor of Nepal Academy and one of the precursors of the literary movement, Bairagi Kainla, awarded Manandhar and Chhetri at a programme where he opined that the country got constitution on the basis of democratic movements.

The former Chancellor Kainla underscored the need of unity among the literary people for the welfare of the country and people.

Vice-Chancellor of the Academy Dr Bishnu Bibhu Ghimire said the Academy was formulating a project on writing the history of Nepal’s literary movement.

The Shrasta Chaitra 30 is the organization established after 2006 people’s movement and the role of literary persons on it. RSS
