NC directs cadres to volunteer in Reconstruction work
Kathmandu / April 28: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) on Thursday directed its district leaders and cadres to cooperate with the engineers and technical staffers of the District Development Committee deputed by the government for reconstruction works. Recently, the government has deputed 1,346 engineers for the reconstruction works.
The respective districts should mobilize all its units for reconstruction works and cooperate with the engineers and technical staffers of the District Development Committee deputed by the National Reconstruction Authority,” read a statement issued by Rishikesh Tiwari, the chief secretary at the NC headquarters.
The NC said the district party cadres will monitor the reconstruction works in the quake-hit districts and urged district committees to deploy at least 20 cadres in each quake-hit villages.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday had urged all political parties to deploy their cadres for volunteering in the reconstruction process in the earthquake-hit areas.
Addressing the closing session of basic training for engineers on house reconstruction on Wednesday in Kathmandu, PM Oli had said that political parties should compete in working for people rather than competing in arguments and debates.
