Nepali migrant dies in road accident in Qatar

nrnQatar / May 15: A Nepali migrant worker in Qatar died in a road accident on Saturday noon.

Dhurba Adhikari, of Purkot-3 in Tanahun had gone to Qatar seven years ago to work as a driver.

Krishna Pandey, advisor of the Tanahun Society, said that the body has been kept in Hamad Hospital in Qatar and that efforts were on to urge concerned authorities there to help take the body back home.

Currently, more that three million Nepalese have been working abroad mostly in unskilled work. More than 500000 people have been leaving the country every year in search of employment opportunities as employment opportunities are very limited in the country. Most of the workers have been compelled to live in hazardious work as they did not have any skill and the government failed to provide any skill development training to foreign job seekers although remittance sent by them has been giving life to ailing economy of the country.
