Surprise inspection reveals uneatable products in Dipayal Bazaar

doti_districtDoti / May 16: A surprise check at the Dipayal Bazaar has brought to fore the use and sales of inedible and expired products.

The District Administration Office, Doti launched a surprise check in Dipayal, which is the central market and administrative hub of the nine districts of the far western region.

The Doti factories, sweet shops and chowmein centres were found to have been in violation of the basic food ethics and trading expired products, DAO, Administrative Officer, Keshav Upadhaya said.

The inspection carried out by DAO officials, journalists and political party representatives found that chowmein packs manufactured by Joshi Bread Industry and Sanatan Foods Industry, Rajpur did not mention expiry dates, Upadhaya said. They also found that daily essential commodities were also uneatable.

Many products found in the market have no mention of the expiry and manufacturing dates and even the retail prices. RSS
