Preparations for international conference on Buddhism over
Kathmandu / May 18: Preparations for the International Conference on Buddhist Philosophy beginning from Thursday as part of the 2560th Buddha Jayanti Celebrations have been completed.
Organizing a press conference here Tuesday, the celebrations main function committee shared the information that all necessary preparations for the same were complete.
The International Conference on Buddhism is taking place in the capital on May 19 while the Buddha Jayanti Celebrations are set in Lumbini.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will inaugurate the conference tomorrow and President Bidhya Devi Bhandari will open the celebration ceremony in Lumbini on May 21.
Representatives of government offices, distinguished religious preachers, monks and Buddhist philosophy interpreters from 28 countries are taking part in the conference.
A total of 28 intellectuals are presenting working papers on Buddhist philosophy in the conference which has the main slogan of ‘Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha and origin of Buddhist Philosophy’.
The declaration drawing up the conclusions of the conference will be issued in Lumbini where the Buddha Jayanti Celebrations are set. RSS
