PM opens PCN 8th national conference,Says country will become self-reliant through production of petroleum within 2 years
Kathmandu / May 19: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said that the government is moving on the path to self-reliance by producing petroleum products within the country within next two years.
Inaugurating the 8th national general convention of the Press Chautari Nepal (PCN) in the Capital, the PM informed that petroleum deposits has been found in Dailekh, apart from the exploration of an iron deposit in Nawalparasi district, which will generate over Rs 10 billion annually, if extracted and used properly.
Amid criticism of the incumbent government preparing to bring ambitious budget, he also said that the government will bring the budget that aims to carry out development in the country and urged all including intellectuals and journalists to understand the fact in this regard.
On the occasion, the PM also launched two books entitled ‘Marxism Ujyalo and Chautari’ published by the PCN as a souvenir.
Likewise on the occasion, former President of Federation of Nepali Journalists Shiva Gaule was awarded ‘the Hridaya Chandra Singh Memorial Award’ established by the PCN.
Likewise, Devraj Aryal was honoured with ‘the Agnishikha Memorial Journalism Award’, Yagyaraj Thapa with ‘the Dekendra Thapa Memorial Award’ and Dilip Kumar Singh with ‘the Birendra Sah Memorial Journalism Award’. RSS
