The two-day event will be organised by the European Union in collaboration with the International Union for Conversation of Nature, Center for South Asian Studies and DAI Europe. Information about this was shared at a press meet Monday.

International speakers from the South Asia share will share their diverse experience and expertise on the topics such as innovations in mitigation and adaptation to climate change, role of media in disaster risk reduction, the need for a more collaborative approach to face these issues in South Asian countries and role that the EU can play in this field.

Nepal and South Asian nations are particularly vulnerable to climate change and natural disasters due to the region’s geography, coupled with high population density and high levels of poverty.

The conference is expected to prove meaningful for implementing the Paris Agreement signed on April 22, 2016 that will significantly influence future prospects for South Asian nation, as the agreement promotes further carbon emission reduction. RSS
